Gran Fondo Milan Sanremo

The Milan Sanremo Gran Fondo follows the same route as the annual spring classic and takes place on Sunday 5th June 2022. The Milan San Remo Spring Classic is the longest cycling event on the UCI Pro Tour calendar, with a distance of about 296 km from the outskirts of Milan, crossing the Lombardy and Piedmont Plains, proceeding to the ascent of the Turchino and arriving finally at the Ligurian Riviera. From Genoa the route follows the coast of the Ligurian sea right to the finish line, which can only be conquered by venturing up the legendary climbs of the Cipressa and the Poggio of San Remo.

This is your opportunity to ride the route of the longest one day event on the UCI calendar. Stay 2 nights in Milan and 1 night in Sanremo. Airport transfers from Milan Malpensa and to Nice are included as well as your entry and the services of our local team led by Giro d'Italia stage winner Andrea Ferrigato. On race day, you ride whilst we offer private feed stations plus we transport your luggage to Sanremo.

2022 Gran Fondo Milan Sanremo

The Granfondo MILAN – SAN REMO cicloturistica covers the same route as that followed by the great champions in the Spring Classic. This is your opportunity to ride the route of the longest one day race on the UCI calendar.

Logistics covered

Stay 2 nights in Milan near to the start and registration and then 1 night in Sanremo. Your stay includes all hotel taxes plus breakfasts and evening meals. We've included airport transfers from Milan on arrival and to Nice on return but private options to other airports are also available. On Saturday Andrea leads a warm up ride and mechanical assistance is available all weekend. On Gran Fondo day we provide private feed stops and we transport your lugage and non-riders whilst you ride.

Guaranteed Entry included

Included is your guaranteed entry in start pen 2. You have the option to upgrade to pen 1 if you are looking at racing the event. We've also included the €20 Italian day license which is obligatory. All you need to do is provide a medical certificate.

Itinerary

Friday 3rd June - Arrival day

Please make your own arrangements to meet us in Milan or meet us at Milan Malpensa Airport. We will run airport transfers from the airport today for you and your bike box. Our mechanic is on hand to assist with building your bike. First night at our hotel in Milan with evening meal.

Saturday 4th June - Registration and Preparation

After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride. A short coffee spin has been organised to keep your legs moving, but nothing too strenuous the day before the Gran Fondo. Race pack collection and preparation for the Gran Fondo. The expo is just a short ride from our hotel. This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you.

Sunday 5th June - Gran Fondo Milan Sanremo

You ride and we'll support you. We offer two additional feed stations on the route to Sanremo today and whilst you ride we'll transport your bags to the hotel in Sanremo. We'll guide you to the hotel on arrival where we'll have the evening meal and we'll assist you with preparing for travel tomorrow.

Monday 6th June

We will run one airport transfer to Nice Airport today. We will leave Sanremo at 08.00 and we’ll arrive at the airport at 09.00 for flights departing after 11.30. If you book a flight at any other time, please contact us directly to discuss private transfer options. We can offer airport transfers depending on how many people are departing at the same time.
