Grande Arrivo Verona

Verona and its magnificent Roman amphitheatre – the Arena – will host the grand finale of the Corsa Rosa. It will be the 5th time that the Giro ends in Verona, after the editions of 1981, 1984, 2010 and 2019: all individual time trials that crowned the successes in the GC of Battaglin, Moser, Basso and Carapaz.

Hospitality Experiences

At the stage start, you can choose from 2 experiences: the ‘Michelangelo’ area is near to the rider presentation stage. The ‘Puccini’ area is next to the Michelangelo but you'll enjoy a slightly upgraded service. Also available today is the 'Chrono' Experience where you will follow your favourite rider in a Giro race car. At the finish in the Arena, the 'Leonardo' hospitality area is an air-conditioned structure with elevated viewing platform next to the finish line. The ‘Dante' Hospitality tent is located at 300 metres from the finish. There is also the Giro Lounge from where you can watch the riders fight for seconds on the final time trial whilst enjoying an open bar and snacks. As well as finish hospitality outside the Arena, you will also have access to the Arena to see the jersey winners crowned.

Hotel Indigo Verona – Grand Hotel des Arts

Immersed in a cozy and lively setting, just a few steps away from the Arena and the city centre, Hotel Indigo Verona – Grand Hotel des Arts features a unique mix of design, comfort and originality. Dating back to the 1920s, the Art Nouveau building hosting it has undergone a recent “remise en forme” which, while modernising its design, has preserved the original atmosphere: an inspired choice that makes the rooms perfect for travellers looking for a secluded refuge and a quiet place to relax and loosen up.
Stay at the hotel for 1 or 2 nights with longer stays available on request. The best way to get around Verona is by walking or by borrowing one of the hotel's free city bikes. Either way, you will reach the centre in a few minutes to enjoy Piazza Bra, Piazza delle Erbe or Via Cappello, where you can visit Juliet's House or stop at the most delicious shops in town.

The Final Stage of the 2022 Giro d'Italia

The Verona ITT route that concludes the 2022 Giro is identical to the one used 3 years ago. Chad Haga beat ITT specialist Victor Campenaerts to the win. 17.1 km – 280 m vertical elevation. This is an individual time trial on the Torricelle Circuit (the same as in the World Championships), covered counter-clockwise. The first part is on broad, straight boulevards, followed by an ascent sloping at 5% in an irregular fashion, on narrower roadway. Split time is taken at the summit, where mountain points are up for grabs. The route then descends quickly for 4 km. The last 3 km along the city streets, with some technical bends, lead all the way to the finish in Piazza Bra and the Verona Arena.
The climb, even though not particulary hard, does open up the door for someone other than Filippo Ganna to win here. When the Giro was here in 2019, this stage caused a fair few changes to the GC. Vincenzo Nibali clawed back almost 40 seconds from Richard Carapaz to add to the excitement although, Ecuadorian from Ineos still took the Maglia Rosa. Primož Roglič managed to leapfrog Mikel Landa to claim his first grand tour podium finish.
