The Maratona dles Dolomites takes place in the Italian Dolomites yearly at the start of July. The course covers 7 mountain passes in the Dolomites. Some say that this is the most beautiful sportive on the planet. Set in Corvara in the heart of the dolomites, the Maratona dles Dolomites takes in some of the best climbs in the region on closed, smooth roads. Three route choices make this suitable for most abilities.
The Maratona is an oversubscribed event with entries selling out every year. Approximately 9,000 riders from 70 countries take part, making this one of the biggest Granfondos. Riders from all over the world have been coming here for the last 34 years to ride this incredible sportive.

Maratona Long Course - 138km

The longest distance route of the Maratona is 138km long with 4,230 metres of elevation gain. There are 7 major climbs on the route: Passo Campolongo (twice), Passo Pordoi, Passo Sella, Passo Gardena, Passo Giau, Passo Falzarego and Valparola.

3 route options

The Maratona has 3 route options. The Sella Ronda (short) course, the middle course and the long course. Because all courses start and finish in Corvara, you can adapt your route on the day if things don't go to plan. The short (Sella Ronda) Course starts in the village of La Villa and finishes in nearby Corvara. Still a hefty elevation gain of 1780 metres on this one. The middle course is 106km long with 3,130m of elevation and is basically an extension of the Sella Ronda course with the addition of the Campolongo and the Corvara finish. All women who enter automatically are allocated a start in the second start group.

Meet our Head Guide in Italy - Andrea Ferrigato

Andrea Ferrigato is affectionately known by his former teammates and friends as “Ferri” for his legs of “Steel”. Andrea has recorded an estimated 650000 miles in his cycling career and he’s still not done yet! Ferri has had a professional career spanning 15 years. He competed 8 times at the Giro d’Italia and 4 times at the Tour de France. He was a stage winner of the Giro d’Italia (1994) and his best year was 1996. In that year he won the Leeds International Classic and the Grand Prix of Switzerland.
Andrea remains very passionate and thankful for his career and is keen to share this passion with other cyclists. Andrea has participated himself in several epic rides in Italy and other European Countries. He loves to ride the Strade Bianche in Tuscany and Dolomites during the Giro d’Italia and is eager to ride alongside other riders who share his passion. When he is not riding his bike he works on his farm and he spends time with his family. He supports the passions of his children which are motocross for Lorenzo and athletics for Nia.
